Cerillion Launches TAP3 Roaming Solution
London, 2nd September 2000 – Cerillion Technologies, the convergent customer care and billing company, has released a TAP 3 roaming solution for GSM operators. The GSM Association implemented the TAP 3 standard for roaming record interchange on June 30th this year.
This new solution allows operators currently based on the TAP 1 or TAP 2 standard to interchange records with other operators using the new standard. This allows operators to avoid the translation fees normally charged by roaming clearing houses.
Guy O'Connor, Business Development Director of Cerillion Technologies said: "Our solution allows operators to comply with the new standard straight away. It can upgrade the capability of existing legacy customer care and billing systems and allow operators to directly exchange records with each other".
"Roaming subscribers are becoming an ever more important component of any operator's income. It is also true that mobile data applications will be prime areas for profit in the near future. TAP 3 will be essential for mobile data roaming."
The Cerillion Technologies TAP 3 module has been supplied to Jersey Telecom. Jersey Telecom already uses the Cerillion Technologies convergent customer care and billing system for fixed wire, GSM, data and equipment sales.
