Cerillion announces world-wide agreement with Compaq for billing and customer relationship management
London, 2nd October 2001 – Convergent customer relationship management and billing specialist, Cerillion Technologies, today announced that it has signed a comprehensive world-wide marketing agreement with Compaq Computer Corporation.
This agreement provides for the joint sales and marketing of “Cerillion”, the evolutionary customer relationship management and billing solution for communication service providers, and “IBAS”, the interconnect billing and carrier relationship management system. Under the agreement Compaq will promote the Cerillion solutions through their local in country offices.
To demonstrate the collective suitability and scaleability, Compaq are also proceeding to benchmark both products on Compaq AlphaServer systems running Tru64 UNIX, a high performance, highly reliable platform that is widely deployed by service providers in their billing and customer care solutions.
Louis Hall, Cerillion Technologies CEO commented: “This agreement means that we can provide a complete, well proven solution. The extensive programme of testing and benchmarking that we have undertaken with Compaq platforms means that operators can implement a system and be sure of the performance that they can expect.”
“We have been delivering solutions based on Compaq platforms for some time now. These have been implemented with a number of operators and have proven to be very successful. The customers have benefited from a high level of hardware reliability and world class service. As a result we have excellent practical working relations with a number of Compaq regions already. This agreement helps to formalise our relationship and should allow us to work effectively with Compaq sales and marketing teams throughout the world.”
Mitesh Desai, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, in the Compaq Telecom Division, said, “Next generation services demand much more sophisticated billing and customer care solutions. Both Cerillion and Compaq have extensive experience in this arena, and have proven they can cooperate to deliver the advanced solutions customers need. This agreement sets the stage for much closer cooperation – and even more robust solutions for our customers.”
Matt O’Donovan, Cerillion Technologies VP of Channel Management: “Compaq is a major force in the world telecom marketplace. We therefore view this agreement between us as highly significant. It is, however, just the beginning. You can now expect to see a number of joint initiatives from Compaq and Cerillion targeted at delivering innovative and complete solutions for communications service providers world-wide.”
The Cerillion system, running on the Compaq platform, has been implemented for BT Manx. Mark Briers, BT's Director for the Manx UMTS Project said: “In developing a leading-edge project of this type, it is important that we choose partners who will provide us with the strongest foundation. Cerillion Technologies presented us with a platform which not only supports this emerging technology, but also enhances business and customer interactivity.
