Cerillion Wins New GPRS Customer Relationship Management And Billing Project

London, 29th May 2001 – Convergent Customer Care and Billing specialist, Cerillion Technologies, has won a project to provide a fully integrated GPRS customer relationship management and billing system for Jersey Telecoms. The solution is to be converged with Jersey Telecoms GSM, fixed wire, ADSL and private circuit customer care and billing. The system is due to be operational by the third quarter of this year.

Jersey Telecoms Marketing Director, Bo Pinel said: “We will be offering a variety of new services to our customers as a result of the additional bandwidth that the GPRS network will make available.   One of the biggest demands that we have is for e mail access on the move. This will therefore be one of the first services that we deliver. In the beginning we are aware that not everybody will have access to full multimedia capable handsets. However we are determined that services will not be restricted by the available bandwidth.”

Later Jersey Telecoms expect to offer further services.  Jersey Telecoms see GPRS as a stepping stone towards still higher bandwidth technologies which will enable the delivery of services such as video. Says Bo Pinel: “We believe that in everyday communication there will be a growing need for people to see each other. It is simply more natural. We also expect to launch other services based around image transfer and location sensitivity. “

Bo Pinel believes that a flexible customer care and billing system is vital for the success GPRS and future services: “We don’t know exactly how some of these services will develop. It is therefore very important that our customer care and billing system has the capability to evolve quickly to meet new needs. The product design architecture and embedded workflow management offered in the Cerillion system are key components in achieving this.”

Cerillion Technologies is already providing converged billing for Jersey Telecoms fixed wire, GSM, private circuit and ADSL subscribers.
