Cerillion Product Forum – March 2023
The latest Cerillion Product Forum offered our customers a look-ahead to features of upcoming product releases, plus insights into our new smart city BSS project. Read on to find out more.
The first Cerillion Product Forum of 2023 took place last week. As always, the virtual forum provides our customers with an in-depth look at the newest features of this year’s Cerillion releases, and brings together a wide range of representatives from our customer base around the world to have their say on future developments.
The forum opened with a brief introduction from Louis Hall, Cerillion CEO, with updates from the team, including our recent return to MWC, an event now “back in full force” after some period of COVID uncertainty, where we also hosted many of our customers at our famous Tapas Bar.
He stressed the importance of R&D to Cerillion’s biannual product releases, noting our 20% increase in R&D investment to ensure the product remains at the forefront of the BSS/OSS sector, and highlighted a number of recent go-lives, including existing customers upgrading to the latest product release, and the new launch for Neos Networks, announced last month.
It was then over to our Product Director, Brian Coombs, for the product roadmap covering planned and proposed enhancements for the next two major releases of the Cerillion BSS/OSS suite, Cerillion 23.1 (releasing next month) and Cerillion 23.2 (October), as well as live demonstrations of some of the latest features.
With automated build, deployment and testing every day, the product suite is being enhanced all the time with these features made available to existing customers and projects on-demand, as well as being rolled up into twice-a-year major releases.
Since our last Product Forum in September, Cerillion has achieved gold-level status for TM Forum Open APIs, with ten APIs certified, but we’re currently using more than 25 of the Open APIs and working on further certifications, including real-world certifications of on-site customer implementations.
After the roadmap, Dominic Smith then turned the spotlight on our smart city project in Egypt, the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) where we are working closely with Nokia and Orange Egypt.
ACUD is a “citizen-friendly” capital city, built from the ground up 60KM from Cairo, uniting smart utilities, connectivity, smart buildings and sustainable energy, and serving all retail and wholesale customers using the standard Cerillion BSS/OSS suite.
While every country can’t build a new city out in the desert, these smart city systems can similarly be overlaid on existing city infrastructure. And with over two-thirds of the world’s population predicted to be living in smart cities by 2050, expect smart city technologies to gather greater momentum in the coming years.
Closing the forum was a Q&A session dominated by the possibilities and opportunities created by integrating ChatGPT into the BSS/OSS ecosystem, with a number of use cases discussed – watch this space!
The Product Forum will reconvene for a two-day in-person session in the autumn, where we look forward to seeing so many of our customers face-to-face once again.
